Basic Steps

  1. Open your Canva template.
  2. Click Uploads on the left side.
  3. Click Upload files.
  4. Choose your logo from your computer or device.
  5. Click the logo after it uploads.
  6. Drag it where you want it on the design.
  7. Use the corner handles to make it bigger or smaller.

How to Replace a Photo in Canva

Some templates include sample photos. You can replace those with your own.

Basic Steps

  1. Upload your photo in Canva.

  5. Double-click the photo if you need to adjust the crop.

How to Crop an Image in Canva

This happens because Canva designs use layers.

Think of layers like pieces of paper stacked on top of each other.

  3. Choose Forward to move it closer to the front.

How to Add a School Mascot or Custom Picture

You can add your own mascot, school building photo, classroom picture, or event image.

Basic Steps

  1. Click Uploads.
  2. Click Upload files.
  3. Choose your mascot or image.
  4. Click the uploaded image.
  5. Drag it onto your template.
  6. Resize it with the corner handles.
  7. Move it where it fits best.

Helpful Tip

If your mascot has a white box around it, try using a PNG file with a transparent background. This usually looks cleaner.

Quick Image Checklist

Before you download your design, check these things:

  • Is the logo easy to read?
  • Is the photo clear?
  • Is anything covering the text?
  • Are faces or important details cut off?
  • Is the image too big?
  • Is the image too small?
  • Does the design still look neat?
  • Is everything lined up nicely?

Common Problems and Easy Fixes

My photo is covering the words.

Click the photo, then use Position to move it backward.

My logo looks blurry.

Try uploading a higher-quality version of the logo.

My image is too big.

Click the image and drag the corner handles inward.

My image is stretched.

Use the corner handles instead of the side handles. Side handles can make photos look squished.

I deleted something by mistake.

Click Undo at the top of the screen.

My mascot has a white background.

Use a PNG file with a transparent background when possible.
